Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound-wave energy to create gentle warmth below the surface, in muscle and connective tissue that hands-on work cannot always reach directly. It is applied with a small handheld applicator and a bit of gel, moved slowly over the area you came in for. Nothing is broken, nothing is injected, and there is no downtime afterward.

We use a Chattanooga Intelect Legend US therapeutic ultrasound unit, operated within the manufacturer's labeled indications. It is an adjunct here, meaning we reach for it alongside adjustments and the rest of your in-office care rather than on its own. It is aimed at selected soft tissue complaints such as sprains, strains, and tendonitis.

Intensity, duration, and how the head is moved are matched to the area we are working on and to how you respond, not set to one default for everyone. Your doctor will walk you through what the session is designed to address before we start. If ultrasound is not a good fit for what is going on, we will say so and talk through the other options on your plan.
